It's lovely to see the bright colour of the whin bushes all over the North West at the minute, but it has me wondering, is there a significant increase in whins over the last couple of years? It seems far more widespread this last few years.

I believe that the common variety of whin that you see all over the hills is actually an invasive species, related to rhododendron (which is taking over between Pettigo and Laghey). Is anything being done to manage it?
