The vertical bars are part a window screen in front of the cat. Why dows it look like the bars were superimposed onto the cat when it looks completely normal on the viewfinder?

It's been a few months since I picked up my kid cam but I'm sure I never saw anything like this before. Is it some thermal print magic I'm unaware of? Am I haunted?
