I made this for if you ever wonder if you have time to complete the trailblazer

From what I can tell, it should take about 15-16 days to complete the Trailblazer, depending on how many weekend days you take advantage of.

Due to that, the 15th would be the latest date you can start and still complete it.

I hope this helps!

I want to first say that I came into this just out of curiosity, but the more notes I read, the more things were adding up, and I was genuinely a lot more surprised than I expected, so I wanted to post it here for you guys, too.

I think one thing that gets lost in the SSO community sometimes is how hard it is to mentally track weekly live-service updates over time.

When updates are spread across 52 separate Wednesdays, it can feel like “nothing changes,” even when the game has actually evolved a lot in the background.

So I went back through roughly the last year of updates (starting May 2025) and tried to condense them into what it would look like if SSO released larger “expansion-style” patch notes every 6 months instead.

This is NOT including recurring festivals/events like Camp Western, Halloween, Winter Village, Trailblazer tracks, rotating horse releases, bazaar rotations, etc. Those alone would make this way too long, but we can all admit there are a lot of those throughout the year.

But even excluding seasonal event content, here’s what changed in roughly the last 367 days:

PATCH 1 (SUMMER/FALL 2025)

WORLD + STORY CONTENT
• New main story progression involving the mysterious orb at Aideen’s Ascent
• New South Hoof rescue questline during the storm event
• Lore books added across Jorvik for worldbuilding and exploration
• Fallen star collecting system added to the journal
• New side quests and races added throughout the year
• Riding Arena updated to support rotating props, races, and future content systems

GAME SYSTEMS + QOL
• Home Stable changes are now completely free
• Trailer travel changed to Jorvik Shillings only to prevent accidental Star Coin misclicks
• Horse name change price reduced from 135 SC to 65 SC
• New Tack System introduced
• First retrofitted horses added with support for modern tack
• Global Store filter added to show only tack compatible with your current horse
• Horse breed website updated with ownership tracking, sorting, and search features
• Simplified account deletion process for inactive/non-paying accounts

ACCESSIBILITY + PLAYER EXPRESSION
• Hearing aids and cochlear implants added as cosmetic options
• New hairstyles and makeup added
• Massive increase to hairstyle and makeup inventory limits

COMMUNITY + SAFETY
• Chat moderation backend improvements announced
• Additional human review systems introduced for chat safety

PATCH 2 (WINTER/SPRING 2025-2026)

WORLD + STORY CONTENT
• Marchenghast released
• Entire new area added with unique art direction and atmosphere
• New quests, characters, and magical themes
• Additional follow-up content added after release
• Puzzle gameplay added in the Demascus Mine
• New equestrian quiz activities during the Festival

HORSE + STABLE FEATURES
• More Gen 3 horses converted into the New Tack System
• Pasture filtering/sorting added:

  • Breed
  • Equipped items
  • Magic horses
  • Special gaits
  • Special movements

ONLINE + TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS
• Major player synchronization overhaul
• Other players now animate more accurately:

  • Better jumping sync
  • Better turning sync
  • Less sliding/desync • Position update frequency massively improved • Racing/player positioning accuracy improved significantly

ACCOUNT + WEBSITE FEATURES
• Star Coin transaction history added to account management

CUSTOMIZATION
• New eye colors added
• Additional hairstyles added
• Additional cosmetic updates throughout the year

EVENT + REWARD IMPROVEMENTS
• Festival activities expanded with more token earning opportunities
• Additional repeatable activities and horse XP rewards added

Again, this is WITHOUT counting:
• Camp Western
• Halloween
• Winter Village
• Equestrian Festival itself
• New horse releases
• Bazaar rotations
• Trailblazers
• Invite-a-Friend rewards
• Cosmetics/outfits/tack sets
• Champion Ranks
• Regular horse coats
• Frequent side activities

People are completely valid to criticize SSO when needed. The game absolutely still has problems.

But I also think the community sometimes talks like the game has been completely stagnant, and looking at everything condensed into one place really puts into perspective how much has actually changed in only a year.

One thing I also wanted to mention regarding the newer Trailblazer changes, because I think some of the discussion around it has snowballed a bit:

Yes, they added a daily cap instead of allowing unlimited point farming in a single day. I completely understand why some players dislike that change.

But after actually doing the current Trailblazer, I think the system is being described a little inaccurately sometimes. You can progress through it pretty quickly just by consistently doing the 12 daily tasks, especially because the bonus point period now runs from Friday through Monday.

That means 4 out of 7 days each week have boosted progression available, while only 3 days are normal-rate days.

People are obviously free to prefer the old system, but I do think some posts make it sound like progression became painfully slow or impossible unless you grind constantly, and that really has not been my experience with the current version.

---------------------

TL;DR:

I think it’s important sometimes to let yourself reevaluate your mindset around a game or community.

It’s completely fair for certain changes or decisions to disappoint people. I’ve had updates frustrate me too. But I also think that when every future update gets filtered through the frustration of older ones, it can become really difficult to appreciate improvements or new content when they do happen.

A lot of gaming communities seem to slowly fall into that cycle, where disappointment starts stacking on top of disappointment until even genuinely good additions are immediately viewed negatively. I don’t think Star Stable is immune to that.

What made this community special to me for a long time was that most of us came here because we love horses first, and because the community generally felt more positive and creative than a lot of other gaming spaces online.

The game still deserves criticism when criticism is warranted. But I also think it’s healthy sometimes to step back, look at the bigger picture, and acknowledge the things that have improved too.

This took me awhile so I'm gonna go take a nap.
