As I'm preparing for this season's grow, I'd like to try manifolding and looking for advice to keep the plant "manageable". The in-laws come around once in a while and I have to move the plants to protect them from the kids/pool. I'd like the plant to be shorter/bushier. This is my first time so I'll probably only top it twice.

My plan is to get secure some rods to the pot to make an X to serve as an anchor point for the plants and a few vertical rods for support once it gets bigger.

Any other good ideas? And bad ideas that I should avoid?
