Grooming my Willy
The last three months Wilson (Willy) and I have been road tripping across North America. It has been the trip of a lifetime! Our grooming routine has quickly figured itself out to the point where I am now brushing him 20 minutes a day and grooming him monthly.
As far as the grooming goes, I was forced to take measures into my own hands after realizing I was unable to travel to cities and get a grooming appointment in the same week. So began bathing him myself:
Willy’s Bath
-It starts with a full body rake, pulling many squares of hair off of him ~40min
-then a D Shed rake to get the undercoat ~20min
-after he’s in the tub, I wetting his body from the back forward, using both whitening shampoo and aloe shampoo on appropriate spots than doing a full rinse ~1h
-same thing, but with conditioner ~20 min
-full towel and blow dry ~20 min
-light rake ~20 min
Total 3h for 15$ vs 5h for 250$
