Been building a simpler way to wake and access my gaming PC remotely. Curious if others would use this

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using Moonlight/Sunshine setups for a while and kept running into the same issue. if your PC is off or something breaks, you’re basically locked out until you physically fix it.

The usual solutions (VPN to wake on lan, scripts, smart plugs, router configs, etc.) all work, but they still feel like a bunch of DIY steps just to do something that should be simple or unstable/unsafe.

So I started building a small hardware + software setup that lets me:

  • Wake my PC remotely from a fully shutdown state
  • Check if it’s online instantly
  • Power it on/off from anywhere
  • Avoid most of the messy setup/workarounds

It’s still early (MVP stage), but I’ve tested it across different networks and it’s been working reliably so far.

I have a quick demo of it in action in this post

Curious what people here think:

  • Does this solve a real annoyance in your setup?
  • Or do most people already have this handled cleanly?
