Roopkund Trek - DIY or Group
Hello beautiful people of the sub. I am planning to join a group for any batch in the last week of May (probably starting 24th may). If not, i will probably do it alpine style with a guide. I am carrying my tent, sleeping bag to lohajung and will try to bargain a guide there to take me with a group or solo. Let me know if your dates matches mine and if you would like to tag along. Estimated cost would be around 10-15k Lohajung to lohanjung. But depends on lot of ad hoc factors. Also, If you have done this trek before, I would be more than happy and grateful if you could share your experience and/or any guide details with me :)
Roopkund has been a dream trek for me since childhood (perhaps since the first time IH documented it). I was very sad when I heard the government has banned camping due to a few mischief human actions. Over the last few years, I did Hampta Pass, KGL, Rupin Pass, Sar Pass and a few small DIYs like Kareri lake, Khaliya Top, etc one-two day hikes. Finally, this year I have decided returning to my long lost dream trek and although I dont find myself physically fit at the moment but I will give it a go, even if I reach Kelwa Vinayak, I will hope to find back the lost zeal and solitude.
