I miss my mom
My mom died March 2025, these were hers. As her health deteriorated, she struggle to care for them. The little one had one shriveled leaf popping out of the dirt, the big one was crispy and dying. I almost threw them out but as an afterthought I grabbed them and put them outside next to my house. One day I noticed 2 new leaves on the small one and new leaves and pups on the large. I started to water them when the rain wasn't enough, add soil, and remove dead leaves. I brought them inside when it got cold, got a grow light and they've continued to grow. The small one isn't just two little leaves anymore. it's a whole entire plant, LOL. and the large one has gotten so tall, I'm going to have to move it because the leaves are hitting the ceiling. I'll probably put them outside again this year and repot them at some point. My mom's not here to see them, she'd have been delighted. I needed to share them with someone so I thought I'd post them here.
