2025 Porsche Macan Electric: 0~1.6%/day Parasitic Drain when parked in 77~81F weather?
Recently started noticing an issue where I lose 0~1.6%/day of battery percentage after just being parked in (normal/ideal?) 71~81F weather :
Data 📉 Points
Apr. 11:
8:55PM: 98% (outside temp = 75F, battery temp = 100F, range estimate = 345 miles, odometer = 4702 miles); charged till 98% while doing errands
9:19PM: 95% (outside temp = 73F, battery temp = 82F, range estimate = 324 miles, odometer = 4713 miles)
10:23PM: 94% (outside temp = 73F, battery temp = 82F, range estimate = 322 miles, odometer = 4713 miles); was running AC from 9:19PM ~ 10:23PM in an attempt to reduce SoC to recommended ideal of 80%
Miles-per-% Conclusion (under ideal outside temp): 11 miles = -3% = x -0.27 linear conversion factor
Apr. 12:
10:28AM ~ 12:37PM: 94% -> 94% (??) (drove ~2.9 miles per GMaps)
12:37PM: 94% (outside temp = 81F, battery temp = 74F, range estimate = 322 miles, odometer = 4716 miles)
8:49 ~ 10:15PM: drove 8.2 miles per GMaps (odometer = +10 miles)
10:15PM: 91.3?% (estimate, didn’t record)
Apr. 13:
7:56PM 89% (outside temp = 77F, battery temp = 82F, range estimate = 315 miles, odometer = 4726 miles@ 7:56PM),
10:15PM 86% (outside temp = 73F, battery temp = 82F, range estimate = 329 (went up?) miles, odometer = 4733 miles)
(NO USAGE FOR THE REST OF WEEK)
Apr. 17:
11:45AM ~ 3:26PM: 79.62%? -> 78%? (drove 6.1 miles = estimate -1.62% usage)
3:26PM: 78% (outside temp = 86F, battery temp = 82F, range estimate = 282 miles, odometer = 4740 miles)
So basically a 0~1.595% battery loss🪫 every day when just sitting (mostly shaded) in a parking lot overnight.
Q1: I know the car will still “run stuff” when off but this seems like a lot… Is this nominal, ie: within expected values?
Q2: I am wondering which electrical consumer(s) are parasitically draining the HV battery when “off”? & if anything can be done to “fix it”? (I ask because a -1.6%/day battery SoC loss means if the vehicle will basically be dead if left alone for ~62.5 days)
(Note, like most cars, this has a remote RF clicker fob, but the location where the car is parked is at least 250’ away from the key fob so I don’t think it should trigger it?)
The only caues I can possibly think of is:
A. at data point 3 it was not measuring correctly & over-measured at 94% even though I had just driven ~2.9 miles- which I thought was strange because it was 94% when I started as well, but even then, it should have still only been at most a 0.81% decrease based on a 3% decrease based on a 11 mile night drive the night before, and/or…
B. the Porsche app is periodically being sent GPS updates by the vehicle, even when parked & that is consuming ~1.6%? (not sure how to 100% confirm if this is the case? but I do not see the reported battery % change until I next get into the vehicle- whereby I then notice the discrepancy, so I am assuming, it probably isn’t this?), and/or…
C. when the vehicle was acquired in Oct. 1, 2025, I am wondering if the expensive ELO GPS (aka “Lo-Jack”) device + service was actually NOT in fact removed & is secretly causing the battery drainage? (I say this as I refused this as a condition of payment since these are expensive & I heard they commonly are sources of phantom parasitic battery drain + the free Porsche app already tracks it).
Thoughts?
