How will re-org affect JG promotion? (in your estimations)
Hi all,
Currently an engineer in IT & Data NL, closing in at 3rd year at JG5 this year. 2 successful in roles in the past 2 end of year reviews, had an understanding with my manager that if the same performance is repeated this year I’ll get minimum an excellent but hopefully an outstanding (first 6 months of 2025 were personally tough for me so my work performance suffered) and will be promoted to JG6. 2026 so far has been my best year in terms of productivity and visibility but due to the re-org I’ve learned my PO, SM and manager will leaving and I will be getting a new manager. Now i’n very worried about having a great year but not being promoted anymore due to the new manager (different expectations or maybe no budget). All in all I will try my best but has anyone been in this situation before? Is there anything I can do/discuss with my current manager? Do prior manager expectations/agreements have any influence or bearing for the new managers? Any insight would be appreciated!
