Aero modded Slate anyone?

A shaped bed cap, plus some replacement expanded rear fender panels should give you a bunch more range.

Because of regenerative braking, weight doesn't actually factor in much when it comes to an EV's efficiency, so adding weight to the slate to make it cut through the air better should be a net positive. For example, plug in Slate's expected battery size and range gets you 2.8463 miles per KiloWatt Hour, which is about as efficient as a Chevy Blazer Ev, a vehicle that weighs 2000 pounds more than the slate does.

This leaves aerodynamics as the biggest contributor to efficiency. The slate is a bit of a brick, but it's a brick with loads of external screws where we could attach better shaped aerodynamic cladding. Smooth the side of the slate with a fender that covers the rear wheels, smooth the bed with an aero cap, and we could easily attach rear extensions to decrease the size of the wake in the same way truckers do for their trailers.

What is the Slate going to sound like?

All electric vehicles produced after 2021 for the US market must make an audible tone to warn pedestrians when under 19 MPH. This serves to give the same heads up that a vehicle is moving that you'd get from the sound of the engine running, with tire and wind noise being considered enough above 20 MPH.

Every demo I can find of the slate moving has it be silent. This will not be true of the production slate. So what do we think it's going to sound like?

Hear me out (no AI)

Low hood/van hood slate. Anyone up for making conversion kits? There seems to be enough room to miss all the structure up there, and you can improve your forward visibility very slightly. And you don't have to lose any frunk space if you sink it deeper into the suspicious slate motor shaped void people have reported under the frunk. Though there might not be room for the original front headlights and you might need to go down to 4x6 headlights.
