I bought a LabCorp on demand test cuz my clinic told me to get a specific blood test. The doctor ended up giving me an order for the lab (after I bought the test) and my insurance was able to cover it (I didn't think they would originally). Hence, the lab clinician said I can call LabCorp and get a refund.
I just talked to a "person" who kept having weird pauses mid word and sounded choppy. They obviously didn't understand what I was trying to do at all and it ended up with them telling me to call back in a week. They didn't understand that I was trying to just get a refund for the on demand test.
It was a bad conversation and I've heard AI agents speak before and it sounded similar. Super friendly tone and an almost natural speech pattern but definitely a robot who has absolutely no clue how to solve a problem they weren't programmed for. Very annoying experience.
Does LabCorp use AI agents or did I just come across a really bad customer rep?
