My wife and I will be headed your way middle of the month. She is splitting off and doing her own thing for 5 days prior to us meeting up. I have those 5 days to myself. Will be flying into Anchorage and renting a car.

I want to fish as I’m an avid coastal saltwater fisherman (think redfish) where I live. I’ll be bringing a 7wt setup and a spinning setup as well. From what I understand, trout will likely be the target species for this time of year.

My plan is to get into town and grab the car, do supply shopping, and sleep in a room day of arrival. The next 4, I’ll be headed North with a tent.

I’ll grab HWY? 3 and likely stay in Willow the first night. The ultimate is to make it to Denali state park.

Please anyone and everyone data dump me with your fishing suggestions and spots to stay. Do’s and don’t, and any pertinent info.

Im a pack in, pack out, leave no trace behind, catch and release outdoorsman. You’ll never know I was in your spot once I’m gone.

I’m looking forward to experiencing your beautiful state and thank you for your time.
