Okay, my life has changed

Okay, my life has changed

Finally took the plunge into Sequencr. Bought some 300’s to replace my Era 100 rears and moved them to act as my front LR channels. Holy shit! The soundstage is incredible and a night and day difference. And the surround on the 300’s are drastically better than the 100’s.

Now that my ultra acts as a center channel I boosted the speech enhancement to medium. Damn, this system sounds CRISP.

Got a sub in the corner of my room on the TV side and a second sub behind the couch. This thing PUMPS.

14.2.3 Tries to change lanes onto the left shoulder

Was on a trip back to PHX from CA. Not a single disengagement on the way there and this was my only disengagement on the way back. I marked this one as critical cause it would have run over the fallen cones then panic changed lanes back into traffic once it realized it was on the shoulder. FSD is so perfect 95% of the time this one was a shocker.

I just posted a very positive review of 3.2 and immediately after was on a drive and had my first wtf moment? I didn’t let it stop fully as there was someone behind me. You can see the accelerator press to push it through the green light. Very strange. I’ve never had FSD do this before.

For whatever reason — I got 14.3.2 a few days ago. Here are my initial thoughts.

Pros:

- in general, everything about this build is faster. Reaction time, speed off the line, stop sign behavior, speed in parking lots and neighborhoods, and parking selection. All good things and much more comfortable to let it do its thing in parking lots. I used to always disengage for parking because it just went way too slow.

- tailgating has shown noticeable improvements on the highway. Which in turn makes slow downs in traffic smoother and more comfortable.

- lane change hesitation seems to be completely gone on standard through mad max. I don’t ever touch sloth or chill so not sure on those. However I have heard reports about hesitancy on standard (I have not experienced this myself)

- left lane camping is better, but not completely gone. Standard will try to pass on the left which makes no sense to me due to the 7mph speed cap above the limit. I always disengage to get it out of the left lane.

- Summon is officially USEABLE!!! It’s incredible. Immediately starts upon the button press, and I now have so much confidence in it making the correct decisions to get to the target safely. It’s obvious it has been moved to the FSD stack and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Of course, the geofence needs to be larger and I wish we could use it in neighborhoods. I have a feeling that will all come soon with it being moved to the FSD stack.

- mad max and hurry now start getting over about 2 ish miles before an exit. That is a welcome change. I haven’t had any close calls with missing exits on this build.

- the build is generally smoother and overall more confident in all fields.

Cons:

- Parking is bad. About 80% of the time it parks crooked or too far to the left or right. I’m not overly concerned about this as it is always improved / perfected in further point releases.

- It is back to parking in handicap spaces. Again, I know this will be improved quickly however for now it is a regression.

- yesterday it drove by my house, realized it did, stopped, and backed up then did a 10 point turn to try and back into the garage. I have old furniture stored in the garage and it was inches away from backing into a coffee table. I disengaged due to it being so close. May or may not have backed into it.

- small brake stabbing around neighborhoods (I wouldn’t even call it that — more like a stutter) for leaves / trash in the road. Assuming it’s thinking it’s a small animal.

OVERALL, it’s a pretty incredible build. Not sure how they made it better than 2.2.5 but they did….you can feel it thinking and seeing things so far away and I am very impressed. Once parking and small brake stutters are improved I think this could be the one.

For reference — I live in Arizona. Roads are immaculate so I don’t deal with many potholes. Sunshine 85% of the year so we don’t deal with much weather. I typically do not have the glaring issues people have in other states. Keep that in mind when considering my notes. Thanks for reading!!
