Hi everyone!

First of all, I want to express my appreciation for the Nuvio devs; you guys are doing amazing work. I have rarely seen such a beautiful app, and that even in beta, it's incredible.

Over the past few days I noticed something strange with the subtitles not showing up. I just can't figure it out; I simply don't understand it, and it doesn't make sense to me either. With almost all movies/series I start watching, all my subtitle add-ons load in the stream, and Nuvio also immediately selects my preferred language: great, that is exactly what everyone wants, of course.

But... over the past few days, I started watching the movies CODA (2021) and Nomadland, and a documentary about MJ. The strange thing is that when I start those streams, the subtitle add-ons do absolutely nothing; they don't start, but they don't show up in the player either, so there is no way to manually turn on the subtitles (see image 1, CODA in Nuvio). Only the built-in subtitles of the file itself work.

I have multiple subtitle add-ons, such as OpenSubtitles v3 and Pro, SubDL, SubSense, Subtito, and SubheroV2. But none of the add-ons show up in the player, so it is impossible to click on them manually. I thought it might be an error on my end, but when I played the same movies in Stremio, with the exact same setup and add-ons, there was no problem and the movie played immediately with the subtitles in my language (Dutch), see image 2 (CODA in Stremio).

I just can't figure out what the problem is, but since it works fine in Stremio, Is it a problem in Nuvio? I find this quite strange, because all the well-known blockbusters I watch via Nuvio don't show this problem; all subtitle add-ons load perfectly there, and Dutch subtitles start automatically when I play the movie (see image 3, Oppenheimer).

I think I have tried everything to solve it, but unfortunately, nothing works. I have this problem in both the Android TV app (GitHub) and the Mobile app (Google Play Store).

Maybe this is something for the devs to look into, or if someone perhaps knows what the problem might be on my end, I would really love to hear what I could do to solve this! I don't want to use Stremio anymore at all, but now I have to🥲

What I use: Nuvio, Real Debrid, Aiostreams, Torrentio. And all the subtitle add-ons I mentioned earlier.

EDIT; Got the solution from a hero under my post: change the subtitle setting in the tv app to 'fast loading'. Subtitles from addons will become visible after clearing cache and reboot your device.

EDIT 2; Sad news🥲 After testing various movies/series with the settings change, it continued to work well. However... after I left the app and restarted it a little later to check again if the problem was still resolved: suddenly, no subtitles from my add-ons again.

It now strongly appears that this is a bug in Nuvio, or is there anyone here with the golden tip that proves otherwise?💪🏼
