I just bought a new 26' Outlander Trail Edition that had remote start listed on the features on the dealership website. I got the app working (after I left the dealership) and noticed it does everything except turn on/off the engine. What is the point of this? How could I do climate control without the engine running? This isn't a PHEV with extra battery power. Can dealerships install the factory remote start? Do I have to go for aftermarket parts? Does adding something aftermarket impact the warranty?

Anyone else go through this after the fact and find a solution? (yes, I will contact the dealer but currently closed).
