Fair Warning to Travelers; Stay Away from this Corner at 5th / Av. Constituyentes

Unless you want fake tours, fake credit card taxes, theft, forced sales, and mules, avoid these shops at all costs. Don’t go down that hallway. Don’t talk to these guys. Ignore them. They don’t mean well. They are not part of what makes Mexico wonderful. They are what contributes to the larger problem at hand.

Tourists who think it’s ok to take pictures with drugged animals really need to educate themselves. I wish they’d save those poor monkeys on leashes, too.

I booked and paid for five days. Today was the first day, and it was awful. Definitely not enjoyable like other dives. It was a small boat, I was the only female with a group of males who ALL smoked on the boat. During the dive, it was the first time that I had a panic attack underwater because of equipment issues, and I’m absolutely exhausted from it being a shore dive rather than a dock, as I expected. My physical strength is just not up to par with walking down the beach and taking my equipment through a very rocky shore. I truly don’t want to continue with the other dives. I’m not sure what to say to the dive shop without sounding like I’m complaining, and, if possible, I’m hoping to get a refund for some of the remaining dives, not all.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Or am I being unreasonable?
