window cling or blackout curtains?
i live in a west-facing unit with one wall almost entirely made of floor to ceiling windows. the heat from the windows is unbearable, even with the lil blind / screens rolled down + A/C running. i’ve recently developed heat intolerance, too, so i’m seeking renter-friendly ways to reduce the amt of heat entering my apt!!
i’m considering either reflective window tints on my windows or blackout curtains with thermal insulation backing. here are my qs:
- based on pic #1, are my windows single or double paned? if double, would using reflective window film / tint / cling potentially damage the windows?
- if curtains are safer, would you use tension rods or drill based on my window situation? if drill, what area(s) make the most sense b/w pic #2, #3, and #5? and if tension rod, are there any 155”+?
- would curtain tracks work better than curtain / tension rods for this setup?
TIA for any help! :)
