Tell BASD 14 schools, not 3, deserve free lunch!
Hello free lunch supporters!
Our free lunch campaign has reached a decisive moment and we need your help for one last push. The BASD school board’s agenda for Monday’s meeting suggests they have, behind closed doors, opted for a free lunch pilot program in just THREE schools, when we know they can enroll FOURTEEN at no cost to the tax payer!
The BASD is letting inertia, bureaucratic foot dragging, and needless caution prevent thousands of kids from accessing free school lunches.
We need to let the BASD school board know this is not enough!

As many are aware, the Lehigh Valley branch of the Democratic Socialists of America has been trying to work with the Bethlehem Area School District about free lunch for all students. Through good faith talks we have it where at a minimum of two schools will be able to get this installed as a pilot run for the school district. LVDSA has found up to 11 schools can be in this, with the BASD saying up to 12 of them potentially.
We don’t know how many will be decided upon in the final decision for the first pilot run, but we know it will be anything from two to twelve and will be no raise on taxes to anyone in the area with this.
Because of their good faith to work with us and try this out we are asking for YOU to come out this Monday the 27th to East Hills Middle School at 7 PM to help us say THANK YOU to the BASD for working with us and getting this going even if it is only a portion of the schools currently.
To those who have worked with us, a major thank you for staying along the way.
