Сan commonplace journal be combined with book/media journal?

I just recently started a commonplace book, and I’m trying to reduce my existing journaling system. If I combine it with the book/media journal (I started one but didn't write much), will that still fit within the concept of a commonplace book?

Those who use one journal for everything, how do you do that?

I’ve been trying to keep all my writing in a single journal for over a week now. Before, it was just prompts I found on pinterest, but now it includes quotes, thoughts, and discoveries. The week seems more eventful now, but I feel like I’ll end up getting confused but I have a feeling I’ll end up getting confused about what I wrote and where.

Guys who keep a single journal, is it easy for you to write everything in one place? Maybe there’s some kind of system that makes it easier?

Can commonplace book can be combined with book/media journal?

I started a commonplace book only recently, and I still have very few ideas about what to put in it. Then I thought, if I can include reviews, lists, and thoughts about books or other media there too?

At first I thought about starting a separate book/media journal, but honestly I read and watch too little these days to really fill one consistently.

I know there are no strict rules and everyone uses their commonplace book differently, but I’d still like some advice or encouragement. I’ve seen so many different approaches to commonplacing that I’m not sure whether this kind of thing really fits.

My "customized" journals for morning pages

Following the best advice I’ve heard about journaling (customizing it in a way that makes you not afraid to use it), I bought a pack of Hello Kitty stickers and decided to "decorate" my journals.

The first time it really helped me with my second journal, which is actually first and used at the moment. I stopped caring whether my morning pages were neat or not, because with covers like these why should I?

It also helps that both of these notebooks are kind of self-made, so that definitely makes writing morning pages feel special.

(The lettering on the second journal says “My ugly diary”)

P.S You really can tell these journals belong to 30+ year old woman 😅

I have two journals for morning pages and for prompts. I consider both of them personal diaries, and I could probably keep everything in one journal, but I’m not sure about combining them.

My morning pages are messy, and sometimes I just write stream of consciousness there, while my prompt journal is more neat and structured. It allows me to ask myself questions and write more about my interests.

So, am I just crazy for having two diaries like this, or should I try to find a way to combine them?
