Somebody I know is rehoming their leopard gecko, and he just sent me pictures of her. She’s apparently about a year old and he claims that she’s healthy but her tail looks a little alarming to me. Is this an issue? Is she just obese? I would love to take her but if she’s sick then I’m somewhat worried

Hi everyone! This is my California king snake, her name is Ruby and she’s about 10 months old. I’ve had her for almost 2 months now and she’s only let me handle her one time (shown in pic) since I’ve brought her home. She’s well fed and otherwise acts normal but everytime I even get in her tank she burrows, or if I try to grab her, she poops on me. She’s let me hold her one time but that’s about it. Before and after she gets too scared and won’t let me even get the chance of holding her. If there are any handling tips or something I can do let me know! I just want to hold my baby but she isn’t warming up to me like I thought she would. She is so cute and I was told king snakes are good for handling but I can’t even get a hold on her to get her out of the tank :( much appreciated
