💥 A exploded star Supernova from My Backyard – SN 2026fvx

this is SN 2026fvx, a recently discovered supernova in the galaxy NGC 4205.

This event is a Type Ia supernova, one of the most important types in modern astronomy. It occurs when a white dwarf in a binary system accretes matter from its companion star, eventually reaching the Chandrasekhar limit and triggering a thermonuclear explosion that completely destroys the star in seconds.

The host galaxy lies about 70 million light-years away, meaning the light captured here began its journey tens of millions of years ago.

At its peak, the supernova reached a brightness of around magnitude 12.3, appearing as a sharp point of light that visually outshines the surrounding galaxy in the image, even though that galaxy contains billions of stars.

🌒✨ Crescent Moon meets the Pleiades

Among Arab sky traditions, this alignment is known as Qiran al-Thalath (the Conjunction of Three), when the Moon meets the Pleiades around the third day of the lunar month. It was historically used as a seasonal marker signaling the end of intense cold and the gradual transition into more stable, warmer weather.

📸Twin Quasar Q0957+561 at 9 billions light years away

 Quasar: Q0957+561
 Distance: about 8.7 billion light-years, with a redshift of z = 1.41
Type: double quasar produced by gravitational lensing
Discovery: 1979, the first confirmed gravitational lens system
Time delay between the two images: about 1.48 years
 Foreground lens: a galaxy at z = 0.36

in the image the quasar appears in blue color because what you’re seeing is the shifted remains of very high-energy light that started its journey in a much hotter, more violent form.
