I have to admit, despite being diabetic I still enjoy sugar too.

Which leads me to this; I’ve gone the last month basically not eating sugar, except for some stuff with carbs of course, but no candy, no Reese’s, none of that.

And, I’ve said this before, I think food plays a role with polyps.

I do not know if food could or does cause polyps, but I am 100% some foods can “agitate” them.

Anyone else think food has a role to play?

I’ve avoided sugar last month or so and I’ve never felt better. My nose, even with steroids has never been more clear than it has been over the last month with each passing day more and more clear.

Only change? Avoiding sugar. (I also don’t go out of my way for milk or much dairy, which I think also plays a role.)

Anyway; just my own musings here.

Less than an hour away for this view. 1.7 miles up and 1,600 feet of gain. Some down trees to climb over but not difficult. Probably not the best for young kids, unless you trust them to be good on their feet, particularly at the end due to narrow trail.

You will also have to cross the damn/creek to begin, which currently is not hard to do. Also, wear pants and nice sturdy shoes or boots; ants are f’n everywhere, literally.. so don’t plan on sitting down.

Views though, worth it. Starts in the park.

Probably a dumb observation but I’ve found if I use a rescue inhaler 15 min before a hike, seems I do better with less huffing and puffing.

If I use it at the trailhead, feels like maybe it hasn’t kicked in, so then immediately going uphill feels like lungs probably get agitated and inhaler isn’t as helpful.

This makes sense at all?

Anyway, also, how often should you be puffing on your rescue inhaler when you’re hiking? Every 2-3 hours? 4? Not until you’re done?

I’m very thankful I won’t die without the inhaler, but holy hell is it a workout without one!
