I believe this is V. communis, though it may be V. domestica, though I don’t think that is a fully recognized taxon yet.

Planted one of these two years ago and she’s nicely starting to spread around my yard.

Had an eye on this violet growing in my yard because it looked different, but only recently discovered that its act a different species, Viola affinis or Le Conte’s violet, making the fifth native violet species in my yard. Just for reference, the main differentiating features of this species are the longer leaves in spring, usually longer than wide, and the bottom petal (known as the spur petal) has hairs at the “throat”.
