Is it ridiculous to plan a UK-New Zealand trip with our 4 y/o and 4 month old?

We recently discovered Baby No. 2 is on the way, which is very exciting! There’s a family wedding in New Zealand when our new arrival is 4 months old.

We are looking to try and do the trip. I have started planning an itinerary that will try and alleviate as much of the stress as possible and we are realistic that is is going to be very hard for all of us, probably not enjoyable at times but ultimately very worth it. We are also planning on getting the help of a bespoke trip planner to assist, especially with the inevitable questions about long-haul travel with an infant.

Fellow Dads, is this completely stupid? My wife and I have concluded we’ll regret it we don’t even try, but I am concerned that are we going to bite off more than we can chew with this? What experiences have you had that might be able to inform making it even slightly better if we go for it?

Edit: I should add, the current pencilled in plan for flying would be:

OUTBOUND

London → Singapore: ~13-14.5 hrs before a 2-3 day layover.

Singapore → NZ: ~9-10.5 hrs

RETURN

NZ → Seoul: ~11-12 hrs before another 3 day layover, including seeing friends

Seoul → London: ~12-13.5 hrs

Our 4 year old did a short-haul flight earlier this month and coped really well.
