Is this normal?
This might just be a rant and something to take my frustration out. Maybe some advice will help too!

tl;dr - Went above and beyond, promotion approved, lead who approved left, Head of dept said change the ratings of all their employees before the effective date, no more promotion
This is my first company with a corporate company (creative industry) kaya Im not sure paano ang kalakaran and politics sa ganto since I came from a freelancing background and am still young (23)
Basically, I've been going above and beyond sa work since I last joined our company (2 years ago) kasi I really wanted to prove myself during probation. After I got regularized, medyo naging stagnant agad ako in just a few months so I asked my manager to give me a more tasks or something that I can be challenged with and improve — which she gave and guided me through all of it. As an artist sa company, we usually just work with our tasks and talk with another employee for optimization but for me, I became a go-to for tasks na for higher roles. Since I'm always proactive, I work with other departments sa production, became a main line of communication with them, and optimize everything. I'm all for it kasi madali akong matapos sa work ko and nabbored ako most of the time kaya okay lang ako sa setup ko.
The good part that came from all of these is that my lead was actively mentoring and suggesting me sa HR for a promotion. I also had a lot of good feedback from those in production, in my annual evaluation, and our manager sa department. Sadly, biglang umalis si lead but she told me via email (we kept in touch outside work) na she already gave approval sa promotion before she left which will take into effect supposedly this April. Matagal lang daw talaga yung gap between approval and the time it takes effect (7 months lol)
Now, our newly promoted lead na 5 years na dito told me a few weeks ago na naapektuhan yung promotion ko kasi sinabi sakanya ng Head ng department na masyado daw mataas magbigay yung lead namin before. Kaya no bueno daw ang promotion this April kasi lahat kami sa team binaba yung performance rating lol. He told me naman na maganda daw performance ko and he agrees to everything our lead before said since we have worked naman together. It's just that prinessure siya, especially during their probation. Grateful ako na transparent siya sakin and lahat naman kami sa buong team magkakakilala but damn, is this normal? I was really looking forward to it pa naman
We even had a long conversation during our 1-on-1 about how f'ed up yung sa management and did all they can to f up other employees in their raises and promotion. 😮💨
I wanna hear your thoughts, anything about the corporate world or stories if you had any similar instances. Maybe just to validate what I'm feeling
