The real strategy behind the DE layoffs and the 2 year social plan

Let's be real about what ASML management is actually doing. Starting with "manager" cuts in DE is just the setup. DE isn't customer-facing, so it's a safe place to start without causing external panic.

The real goal is getting that 2-year plan locked in now so they can quietly gut the more customer-exposed factory and CS later. We already know part of production is moving to Asia. Management is terrified of the customer fallout when they finally slash those exposed departments. If they get a 2 year plan signed today, they won't have to negotiate a new one when things actually get messy.

This 2 year plan is a blank check for future layoffs.

“The money we save isn't even worth the pain." ASML's CEO admits to ruining livelihoods for what for him is “pocket change” and a desperate gamble that forced misery will magically spark "innovation." Peak corporate sociopathy.
