That split second when a rideshare stops feeling normal…
I kept thinking about how in a moment like that, everything becomes weirdly slow.
If a rideshare suddenly feels off, most people are not going to calmly unlock their phone, open Messages, find the right person, type out what is happening, and then explain where they are. Even if it only takes a few seconds, it feels like too much when you are stressed.
So I built an iPhone app called TapSafety.
It is simple on purpose. You open it, hit one button, and it opens a prewritten iMessage to your emergency contacts with your exact location and a map link.
No account. No server. No background tracking.
I built it around rideshares, but also for first dates, walking to your car at night, or any situation where you want a fast way to alert someone you trust.
The app is built, and I would honestly love feedback from people here.
Does this sound useful, or does it feel like something you would probably never use? And if you were going to add one feature that would make something like this better for rideshares, what would it be?
