Seeking advice as a Lebanese graduate

I hold a masters in chemistry from a good university in Lebanon. I have good grades and enough laboratory experience in many areas.

I graduated a year and a half ago, and started applying ever since. I have maybe gotten a rejection letter from 10 universities, usually an autogenerated rejection email, but it was better than not getting any emails.

I’m frustrated because I can’t work in the university laboratories anymore due to the ongoing war, and I also can’t get a job.

I would love to pursue my PhD abroad. I mainly applied to France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. These are my preferred countries because I have friends/relatives there, but I have tried many other places.

I have tried constructing the perfect application, reaching out to so many professors, asking for help from my previous professors, and asking for help from people already accepted in programs, but to no avail.

I know many people that got accepted with very weak resumes with little experience and low grades, so I’m not sure what the problem is.

The situation is unbearable in Lebanon and it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide for our household. I really need this to happen.

If anyone has any piece of advice about the application process I would highly appreciate it.
