Dear Atlanta Drivers

  1. If you miss your exit or turn, things will be okay, I’m almost certain of that. There is actually not any need for you to suddenly and aggressively try to cross 3-5 lanes of traffic 100ft from your intended exit. The extra 5-10 minutes will not kill you, but you may kill someone! Please relax.

  2. The left most lane is the passing lane. If you are in the left most lane, and all the other cars are passing you, you are in the wrong lane. Why you would even want to cross 2-4 lanes of traffic all going faster than you in the first place is beyond me, but please don’t then stay in that lane also.

  3. When you see a keep moving sign, that is directed towards you and not the traffic that you are currently yielding to, that’s why those people behind you keep honking.

  4. It’s okay if someone on the road happens to be going faster than you. Them overtaking you is not personal, nor is it a challenge. You don’t have to speed up to obstruct or slow them down in response, that’s actually dangerous. Please leave the road regulating to the cops etc.

  5. This may come as a surprise to many, but you do in fact have a turn signal, and it is very helpful to others around you when you use it.

Sincerely,

Every driver behind you with a bit of sense and decency
