SHARING FOR AWARENESS AND LOOKING FOR TIPS
Today was a really terrible day for my son. He’s been playing Adopt Me for a long time and genuinely enjoys taking care of his pets. He’s been working hard toward getting his dream pets.
From what he told me, he saw an AFK player riding a Bat Dragon. When he checked their profile, it said they were “trading free pets” like Frost Dragons and Shadow Dragons in exchange for following some instructions on YouTube and joining their community.
My son got excited and wanted to support what he thought was a real community, so he clicked the link. This morning, he woke up crying because all of his pets were gone.
It’s really upsetting that people do things like this, especially to kids. I just hope scammers like that stop and think about whether it’s worth hurting others.
I’ve been comforting him, but I wanted to post this as a warning for other parents—please talk to your kids about these kinds of scams.
Also, if anyone has tips on how he can start rebuilding again, I’d really appreciate it. I don’t want him to give up on something he enjoys just because of bad people.
