I took this moon photo in two shots in succession. One to properly expose the moon and another high ISO to freeze the clouds. I then processed and stacked the two frames together in Photoshop. Captured with Nikon Z8 and NIKKOR 100-400mm with NIKKOR 2X Teleconverter on a Tripod.

Shot with my new ASI676MM through Takahashi FSQ-85EDX and Takahashi 1.5x Extender which ChatGPT tells me is the optimal pairing for critical sampling while filling the frame. Still arguing with ChatGPT about it as the moon didn't necessarily fill the frame but I guess the results speak for themselves. With terrible seeing and lots of clouds I took 30 second 30 fps shots at approximately 1000 or so frames a session. This is the best 25% of the best 1000 frames of those sessions aligned and stacked in AutoStakkert 4, sharpened in Registax 6 and processed in Photoshop. Tracked on ZWO AM5.

Shot by me, Adam Jackson, a Texas based astrophotographer with Nikon Z8 through Takahashi TSA-120 with Dakin 2.4x for critical sampling. Mount is ZWO AM5. I manually selected 20 of the best frames and used a super resolution up sampling technique in Photoshop to quadruple the effective resolution of the Z8 to 120 megapixels. Aligned, stacked, processed and sharpened in Photoshop. Mineral Moon colors boosted to highlight titanium dioxide and iron oxide.
