Anyone else hate the Cardo Packtalk boom mic on their Neotec 3 modular helmet?

Hey everyone,

I recently installed the Cardo Packtalk-S (the one made specifically for Shoei) into my Neotec 3, and the boom microphone is driving me crazy.

Since it’s a modular helmet, the boom mic is always in the way when I’m flipping the chin bar or just trying to put the helmet on. I don’t use the intercom every day, but detaching/attaching it constantly seems like a pain and I’m worried the internal wires will eventually snap if I keep bending it out of the way.

For those of you with modular helmets and Cardos:

Do you just leave the boom mic in there? If so, where do you "park" it so it's not poking you?

Has anyone successfully switched to the button/wired mic? I’ve heard you can stick it near the cheek pad, but does it actually pick up your voice well since it’s not right in front of your mouth?

Is there a trick to routing the wires so it’s less intrusive?

Would love to hear how you guys managed your setup before I give up and just rip the mic out entirely. Thanks!

I've got my license for cars and bikes at 18, because I was sure I'll buy one. My first 50cc scooter I had when I was 11.

Now I'm 42. Never owned a bike, just a couple of scooters. When I was young I didn't have where to keep it and also in 2001 there were almost no bikes on the roads in Eastern Europe. So I waited and waited. Always found an excuse or let's better say others had excuses for me why I shouldn't have a bike. Now I'm living alone in Spain with no family nor kids. In the country where I can drive every day for the whole year! So I just went to the shop and bought myself a brand new bike. Finally my dream which took me 25 years came true!

I'm still struggling to choose the crash bars to be of steel, not super expensive and not ugly. Could someone share couple of photos of Heed crash bars installed on 2025 year model?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for recommendations for crash bars. I have selected couple which I like, but can't decide which one to choose. Maybe outer perspective will help me choose. Please share any thoughts about my choices or feel free to suggest any other I might have missed.

I'm looking for something below 200EUR and with availability in Europe. This is my first bike, though not a first ride. I want to think that I'm too old for risky driving, but you never know. So on one hand I want most protection, but at the same time I don't want the bike to look like off-road tank.

Here are the options I'm choosing from:

  1. https://www.mxtotal.com/es/96586/defensas-laterales-y-de-motor-trail-negro-texturado-crosspro-honda-nc-750x-2025.html
  2. https://www.motea.com/es/defensas-de-motor-superior-para-honda-nc-750-x-25-26-motoguard-hg78-a697810-0
  3. https://heedshop.eu/en_US/p/Crash-bars-for-Honda-NC-750-X-2025-.../1360

I'd appreciate any feedback and thougths, thanks!
