Anyone else hate the Cardo Packtalk boom mic on their Neotec 3 modular helmet?
Hey everyone,
I recently installed the Cardo Packtalk-S (the one made specifically for Shoei) into my Neotec 3, and the boom microphone is driving me crazy.
Since it’s a modular helmet, the boom mic is always in the way when I’m flipping the chin bar or just trying to put the helmet on. I don’t use the intercom every day, but detaching/attaching it constantly seems like a pain and I’m worried the internal wires will eventually snap if I keep bending it out of the way.
For those of you with modular helmets and Cardos:
Do you just leave the boom mic in there? If so, where do you "park" it so it's not poking you?
Has anyone successfully switched to the button/wired mic? I’ve heard you can stick it near the cheek pad, but does it actually pick up your voice well since it’s not right in front of your mouth?
Is there a trick to routing the wires so it’s less intrusive?
Would love to hear how you guys managed your setup before I give up and just rip the mic out entirely. Thanks!
