Issue when casting from my phone to tv
I asked Rouvy tech support, and they said Rouvy doesn't work on Chromecast, but I know it does, as I can cast from my phone to my TV using my Chromecast dongle plugged into my home theater receiver. My problem is though, when I do, my trainer drops it's WiFi connection to the Rouvy app, so I have to connect by Bluetooth. If I run the Rouvy app solely on my phone, it runs fine over the WiFi connection, but once I cast it to the TV, the trainer disconnects, and I have no trainer available, nor controllable. I think I've figured out why, I'm just looking for your feedback.
My wireless router provided by Fidium is one of those dual band routers, it will connect by 2.4G or 5G depending on what the device needs. And no, I cannot create separate 2.4 and 5G networks on this router, the app provided is very barebones, and doesn't offer me a way to do so. I tried doing this last year, no luck
So my trainer, an Elite Avanti, connects to WiFi on the 2.4 band. It connects to my phone fine, I'm assuming because there are separate bands available, or it just works better than my router The phone and the Chromecast connect to the network over the 5G band.
So I'm assuming the phone will pass the Rouvy app over to the Chromecast, as they'll both do 5G, but it can't pass on the trainer data as they're on two different WiFi bands. Do you think this makes sense, or am I just missing something here, and I should be able to make it work?
I've had no issues with the Bluetooth, I'd just like to be able to take advantage of the WiFi connection.
