Recently, I’ve been on the lookout for a timepiece that could keep up with my lifestyle. As a scout leader, I needed something durable and functional, which is why I specifically wanted a watch with a green nylon strap to match the outdoorsy environment and my uniform.
However, I didn’t want a bulky "tool" watch that looks out of place in a more formal setting. I still wanted it to feel elegant and classic. This [Seiko] 5 seems to hit the perfect sweet spot. The olive green dial and matching NATO-style strap give it that rugged, military-inspired utility, while the 37mm case and clean automatic movement maintain a level of sophistication. It’s a great example of how a field watch can be both a workhorse and a stylish accessory.
Very happy with how the green nylon looks against the satin-finished case!
