First time cat owner, adopting a very shy 10 yo cat. Tips to make her feel welcome/help her come out of her shell?
We're a peaceful household, no kids or mammalian pets to make noise for her. Current plan is set her up in one room and let her just figure it out and let her get more comfortable with us over time, but I would like to try and take steps to encourage her to come out her shell.
She doesn't bite/hiss or anything, just gets a bit frozen with fear when near humans. Any advice relating to this, or cat ownership in general, would be amazing :]
