Did I drop in?

I'm the guy on the left (from the camera's perspective). We both saw the wave around the same time, and I thought he was just going to go left. When I caught the wave, I honestly thought that he missed it, and didn't know he was behind me until he yelled at me (at which point I just left the wave). He got really mad at me, kept lecturing me, and then proceeded to stick around for another hour (without catching any waves), pointing at me while talking to his buddies, etc.

I really think he could've just caught it earlier and gone left, and I was in the right spot to catch on to go right. Did I drop in? And how bad of a drip in is this?

Tanks, how often do you "scold" your DPS? How bad does it get in heroics?

I started tanking back in 2008 in WOTLK with a DK. I did play TBC, but back then I just healed. I just started anniversary TBC, and is my first time tanking in TBC, ever. I am taking with a feral druid, and have been leveling mostly with dungeon runs. I am only level 63 right now.

I did not realize how annoying tanking can be in TBC until now. It seems that there's many, many different ways DPS can make your life difficult. Initiating before me is obviously the biggest one by far, but it seems that most classes can AOE aggro off of you pretty easily, if they tried (I don't even know how warrior tanks deal with this shit). There's a whole list of behaviors that I have seen so far that I won't list here.

I generally try to put up with it, and treat it as "practice" at first. But, in roughly 50% of the runs I've had, I had to eventually "scold" a DPS at some point. In pretty much all cases, once I ask them to chill, the run goes smoother... which to me means that:

  1. They know how to control their own threat.
  2. They know what they're doing makes things more difficult for tanks and healers.

But they do it anyways, because it's "fun?" Anyways...

Questions to other tanks:

  • How often do you have to tell pug DPS to chill out? Is 50% high?
  • Does it get worse on Heroic content? I usually like pugging 5-man content, but not if I have to be a constant Karen about it...

Planning on getting my first custom board made, I have the dimensions figured out, but still need to choose graphics. I was thinking of making it completely blank (or just solid of a certain color) and then printing clear vinyl stickers with custom graphics/images that I can remove and change whenever I want.

I would think that doing this on the top wouldn’t be an issue, but is this a bad idea to do on the bottom of the board? Would the drag even be noticeable if I apply the sticker air-tight? Also, is this kooky?
