laptop for poly broke less than 12 hours after receiving it

tldr laptop broke 12 hours after unboxing, refusing to replace and repair is probably gonna take weeks and it's full price

less than 12 hours after unboxing the Lenovo legion 5 (straight from the NYP website) the display cracked when I was closing the lid. the crack was right above the left hinge. this caused the display to go black as well rendering the laptop useless for actual school use

both Lenovo and asiapac basically said it wasn't their pasal

Lenovo replied first and said that I had to prove it was a hinge issue for it to quality for warranty, as I did not have accidental protection (no option to get that as well when I was buying the laptop). after sending photos/videos it still wasn't enough 'evidence'

I then went down to the asiapac office, more hopeful this time because they had a 1 to 1 exchange policy for faulty devices within 7 days of receiving it. they said that it didn't qualify for the exchange because 'i had already set it up so it was used'. The first thing someone does after getting a new laptop is to set it up (literally just setting up windows, installing Firefox and signing into my school email). it has not left my house and the total screentime was around 2-3 hours. Furthermore, how would you know if it was faulty without using it???????

yea I'm cooked poly starts in a week and I'm dead broke. asiapac and Lenovo my opps y'all better count your days
