Spring replacement measurements need to be exact??
Ok so first time DIY guy here, going to attempt to change broken springs. Right side is broken and reads 207 x 2 x 19.5, left side I can't read as is wound but measures little under 24" so im guessing it's a 23" due to gaps. 10/20 coil measurements look like it's .207 as well. Door is 16 x 7 with a liftmaster 3240 motor.
So I ordered two 207 x 2 x 23s to replace both springs from Amazon. Got some advice from Express Garage Door Parts and they recommend 225 x 2 x 25 springs.
My question is, should I stick with the .207 springs at 23" or do I need the larger springs as recommended? Or are both of these options close enough and don't need to be exact? As side note, been in the house 11 years and door worked great for that entire time until now. Any advice would be great, thanks all! Am I on the right track?
