My 69th album (insane coincidence) but I would like to discuss this one with you guys

I'll start off by saying I gave this a 4. The music was groovy, bass forward, and ahead of its time. The French spoken word was different enough to be a novelty.

However, there is an elephant in the room with this album, and it seems people only care about the actual subject matter on the 1001 albums project.

When I learned what this album was actually about, I was looking online to see if it was a Lolita style indictment of this kind of person or just a straight up pedophilic (or whatever the word is for teenagers) fantasy written by Gainsbourg. And it seems no one is actually 100% sure.

At first I felt insane cuz every discussion on reddit was like a huge tale about how good the album was with hardly more than a slight mention of the subject matter. Often times it wasn't even brought up. But when you look at the reviews on the album project, that's where you see people actually angry and not even willing to listen.

I had a discussion with a guy I work with, what are we willing to forgive and listen to just because the music is good? What if he was singing about a 9 year old? Would people still love this album and spin it to this day?

My final question, do you think this album is meant to gross you out, or is it meant to just be a sexy album about a teenager?
