14 hours from Sydney... am I a human or just a vibrating seat at this point?

Just landed in Doha from SYD

Question for the frequent flyers: Is it just me or does the A380 aircon only have two settings? 1. Surface of the Sun or 2. The Antarctic Tundra. I was swapping between my hoodie and the blanket every 20 mins.

Also, I have a 5 hour layover. Is the "Garden" lounge worth the trek or should I just find a quiet corner near the big Yellow Bear and sleep like a literal gargoyle?

How do I stop my Poms-in-law from being a total "Debbie Downer" about Sydney?

G’day legends,

I’m in a bit of a pickle and I need some local wisdom before I accidentally "lose" someone in the Blue Mountains.

My Aunt (straight out of London) flew in a few weeks back. She managed to snag a flight on Qatar Airways just before the world went mental, so she’s here, she’s safe, but bloody hell… she is bored.

She’s been moping around my place in Sydney for a month now, constantly checking the London weather like it’s a long-lost lover. The kicker? She keeps complaining that she "doesn't like the weather" here. It’s April! It’s like 22 degrees and sunny—basically a heatwave by British standards—but apparently, if it’s not grey, drizzly, and miserable, she’s not interested.

She spends half her day sighing about how much she misses "proper tea" (I’ve given her Dilmah, Twinings, the lot) and the other half asking when the next flight back to Heathrow is.

I’ve tried the standard tourist traps:

Took her to the Sydney Opera House — "It’s a bit pointy, isn't it?"

Walked her around The Rocks — "A bit new for my taste."

Even tried a cheeky Sydney Family Easter Show trip — "Too many kids, far too much sun."

Short of checking her into a walk-in freezer to simulate a London autumn, how do I make this woman actually enjoy herself? Are there any "Pom-friendly" spots in Sydney that feel like a damp Tuesday in Croydon, or do I just need to feed her more Pavlova until she enters a sugar coma?

Give us your best ideas, because if I hear one more complaint about the "aggressive" sunshine, I’m going to start charging her rent in Marmite.

Cheers!
