I think the writers and producers wanted to pay homage to how the show started in Season 1 (The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler, El saying goodbye to Mike, etc.), and this could have been a way to bring the OGs together. I thought Max would be a priority not only for Lucas, but also for her best female friend El and it would have been cool to see them working together. I was so bummed about how they handled El and Max’s friendship in Season 5, especially after El restarted Max’s heart because she couldn’t bear to let her go. I thought the scene where Will finds Max when he enters the hive mind was so cool.

It would have been awesome if we had gotten more scenes with the OGs and/or the full party, including Max, in Season 5.
