I’m overwhelmed at the information out there on crawlspace encapsulation. I’m researching for my daughter’s house, which is 85 years old. The details: no musty smells or rodent problems. No visible floor warping or extraordinarily high energy bills. Evaluation shows high moisture levels but we don’t see pools of standing water. It is a very small house, single story, approximately 1000 sf. First quote for full encapsulation and moisture remediation coming in at $30k. More scheduled. I don’t know if I can advise her to do this, given the age of the house. Interested in opinion.
