I've recently dabbled in making a "simple language" for my TTRPG.
Hello everyone! I'm still at it making my Morrowind Inspired TTRPG. For those who don't know it, it uses an original D10 Dice Pool system, free-form customization for Characters, Gear and Magic.
It's set on three moons that orbit a shattered planet, people live pretty primitively as magic is so abundant and common, that it can even feed them, making life meaningless, that plus the fact that the religion of the tri-star involves giving all you have to your Living Gods. Adventurers go out and seek well... adventure and riches, and try to make a better life for themselves. Even though it is quite low tech, the ancient ether ships that brought the people from the Shattered Core to the moons long long ago, allow trade and travel amongst them. These are not replicable as the secret to their construction was lost along with the Shattered Core.
In terms of worldbuilding, I have been working on a simple alphabet, and actually started writing folk songs, stories and poems. It's a pretty tough but kinda fun exercise, the language itself is not made to be perfectly functional, it's mostly just for immersion.
Both players and GM's can use it to create names for characters, locations, or just to simply play around! It's been particularly fun putting it in the hands of Om.os.bri so he can put in symbols that actually mean things instead of gibberish.
All in all it's been a blast! Tell me what you think of the alphabet, see if it's missing something very vital. If you're interested share this with other people, and also don't hesitate to ask any questions, send me a DM or ask me for an early alpha version of the game.
