Why are fire-medical departments bad?

Seems like there’s a lot of controversy around the dual fire-medical department approach? To me it sounds efficient, you have the skills and knowledge of firefighting as well as the medical knowledge of being an EMT/Paramedic at the station.

I fully believe that this singular show increased the number of applicants applying to become First Responders, me being one of them. I understand it is just an anime but the way the animators play out the scenes along with Yuki Hayashi's music, it has been perfect almost every single time. The stories of redemption from characters like Gentle and Lady Nagant, are just inspiring like no other anime or fiction has.

I myself had been watching My Hero since junior high, I was already hooked the moment I saw Midoriya running to save Bakugo from the weird sludge dude, and the once again when he saves Kota from Muscular. The final nail in the coffin for me though surprisingly wasn't Midoriya but it was Bakugo. In Episode 3 of the Final Season, as Midoriya whips Bakugo and throws him towards All Might, that shit did something to me. The way everyone was praying for him, the way his regrets were flashing back and the way he opened both his eyes with full determination. I don't know something just resonated in my heart seeing all of that, honestly it made me bawl my eyes out. I just knew I had to try too.

I've been in the military the last few years working with computers but after my contract ends which will be in the next year, I'm going to pursue a career in paramedicine. I understand it's not gonna be as glamorous as anime haha, its going to be gross, exhausting physically and mentally but just like what All Might said "You too can become a hero."
