Can this card be used during the "Reaction Phase"

For instance playing against Eyeless and the Finale has 2 attacks. Can this card be used to buy the Guard card back in my hand to use for the second attack during the Killer Phase?

I still would have lost this round. But it was my first try working through the mechanics of this game and board. It was fun.
