What am I supposed to do with him

I didn't pay much attention to my companion since before that I had mostly fodder and didn't even know you can buy him mutations and stuff.

After Bethesda, I decided to find out why he deals 40 dmg per swing and see what mutations I can evolve.

What's wrong with him 😭? Are these stats even legal? I feel like my character is now a wise mentor figure meant to die in the next 2 episodes for motivational purposes.

Double muscle? You have 50+ strength, how much muscle do you even need? And in the next mutation they offer me multiple arms? For what purpose, who is bro planning to fight? Resheph himself?

The only thing I have over him is that, like any protagonist, he is dumb as a rock and as willful as a wet napkin.

But if he ever, for any reason, decides he is done with me, I have only a nuclear option left, which has to be even worse than him (considering I almost died multiple times and sacrificed 1 str to a bat for its recovery).

I am thinking of taking him over and cleaving my previous self in half before he gets any ideas but considering how atrocious his int is, I'll be locked out of tinkering for good so maybe I should wait a little while before assuming his position? Also, should I look for claw or horn mutation? I heard they benefit from strength more? Should I level up multiple hands?

Tips to help a new guy on his first somewhat sucessful run

Live and drink folks! After what feels like an eternity of failed runs I try to do an ego build and suddenly get blessed with very good luck. I got the eugen boomstick and a 6 av carbide armor very early from goats. It was miles ahead of whatever I was doing before even if I could land only one shot out of three.

Everything was a breeze until I hit Bethesda, where my confidence was shaken up a bit. The boomstick that used to deal 20+ dmg for some reason deals around 10 and guzzles a lot of charge. I also still miss quite a bit.
I can still pop basically anyone I've met with Sunder Mind but it has 44 round cooldown... And if I meet someone who is too dumb for it, I can only rely on Jotun and his private army to do the fighting.

I've went far east to look for better gear, maybe a better boomstick but all I've gotten so far is just green and legendary armor from frogs and a bat stole 1 strength from me, which is devastating. I feel like there is something missing from my build, I don't have much to do in the downtime of sunder mind.

What should I do? Where should I go? Should I roll out new mutations until I stumble on body swap and become my dear friend Jotun?

But Jotun is sick with something and I have no idea how to cure him.

Anyway, any guidance would be appreciated. I don't know anything about qud besides the early game, its all new for me.
