Took a walk over to the lake in the next section of my neighborhood and saw these guys. Mallard momma and Muscovy momma!

Status update for Swede is after 6 days she still has 10/13 babies so we aren’t in the clear yet but great to see she’s doing her job as a momma, heading out to get some crumble to toss out for them now so I don’t burn through so much of my adult feed/mealworms trying to get food for them inside our fence where the babies can fit through and exclusively eat!

This is Swede, she was a wild egg that got mixed in with my runners nest last year. She’s some mix of mallard and Swedish, her and her mom are capable of flying so who knows what their lineage is other than a Swedish at some point in the past 😂 either way she’s stuck around for a year now since I released her out to the pond and we noticed she went broody a few weeks back. Yesterday she popped up with 12 lil babies. Last pic was earlier when one got separated in our yard shortly before being released by the fence where it bolted downhill to rejoin Swede and the others
