After a phone conversation a few weeks ago Anthem said they cover HIFU. Doctor submitted for pre approval and it was denied today.. Goimg to have him appeal but who knows what will happen. Anthem told me today that they dont see how it helps my quality of life (guess cancer helps more!)

Just checking if anyone has had this happen and looking fo advice. Did psa at annual physical 6 weeks after biopsy and was up to 7.1 from 4.5 pre biopsy and cancer diagnosis. Have HIFU scheduled for May 21st. Did PSA recheck today at 11 weeks after biopsy and it is 8.2. Do you think I should do another MRI before treatment?
I got a 2nd pathology opinion from John Hopkins and paid $400. They never contacted me with finished report just sent me a bill. I just now logged into thrle website and found path report and it was literally word for word identical to the 1st one. It looked like they cut and pasted with the only difference beung John Hopkins name on upper left hand side. This doesnt change my treatment decision but it also seems odd...
