My 7700's battery died (won't charge at all), and most replacement batteries that I have found are Ni-MH, which I've read you should not charge with a charger designed for only Ni-Cd batteries. Given the age of my 7700, the cost of a Ni-MH charger + battery or Ni-Cd battery is making me question whether to go that route or get an 8150 instead. It looks like my current model cordless options are very lightweight (closest to the 7700) with possibly less power than the 7700 has, the 8150 (which is heavier than the 7700), or even larger, heavier models.
A few other points:
- The lightest model is marked as not for cutting on Home Depot's site, and I have used my 7700 that way, so I don't want less functionality.
- I have small and not particularly strong hands, so being able to comfortably manage any tool is important. I love how lightweight and small the 7700 is.
- I have too many Dremel (or aftermarket) attachments to not get something they are compatible with; none are the EZ-whatever with the large, oddly shaped hole in the middle. If that means I could use them with another brand of cordless rotary tool, I'm open to suggestions for that too.
